Khaberni - Jordan condemned, on Monday, in the strongest terms the provocative incursions carried out by Israeli officials, the latest of which is the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque/the Noble Sanctuary by an Israeli Knesset member as a flagrant violation of international law, a condemnable escalation, and an unacceptable provocation that must cease.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, affirmed the kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the continued rejected incursions by extremist Israeli officials into Al-Aqsa Mosque/the Noble Sanctuary, as a blatant violation of the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque/the Noble Sanctuary, an unacceptable attempt to divide it temporally and spatially, and a desecration of its sanctity.
Al-Majali emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
He warned of the repercussions of the continuing provocative and illegitimate violations of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, calling on the international community to take a strict international stance compelling Israel as the occupying power to stop its illegitimate practices and continuous violations of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and violations of the sanctity of the sacred sites, which is a continuation of the Israeli government's extremist policy aimed at continuing the dangerous escalation and unilateral illegal measures in the occupied West Bank.
Al-Majali renewed the confirmation that Al-Aqsa Mosque in its entire area of 144 dunams is solely a place of worship for Muslims, and the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs managed by the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is the legal authority exclusively responsible for managing the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque/the Noble Sanctuary, and regulating entry to it.
