Khaberni - Deputy Hamza Khalil "Tubasi" took the constitutional oath as a member of the twentieth House of Representatives, succeeding the previous deputy Mohammad Al-Jarrah.
This happened during a legislative session held today, Monday, chaired by the head of the council, Mazen Al-Qadi, and attended by the Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, and members of the government team.
Al-Qadi had sent a letter to the president of the Independent Election Commission, based on the provisions of Article 88 of the Jordanian Constitution, officially announcing a vacant parliamentary seat in the twentieth House of Representatives for the general electoral district.
It is mentioned that Article 88 of the Constitution obligates the president of the council to notify the government or the Independent Commission within three days of the council's awareness of the vacancy, to be filled within a period not exceeding two months.
In the case of the general district (party list), the vacancy is filled by the person who follows the member whose membership has fallen on the same electoral list.
A definitive decision was issued to dismiss the former deputy Mohammad Al-Jarrah, who won for the Workers' Party in the recent elections, since Tubasi follows Al-Jarrah on the list.
The president of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Musa Al-Maaytah, had sent on the eleventh of February 2026, a letter that included notifying the commission of the vacancy of the deputy seat for the Workers' Party, Mohammad Ahmad Al-Jarrah.
He stated, "Based on the provisions of paragraph 3 of Article 58 of the House of Representatives Election Law No. 4 of the year 2022 and its amendments, the commission's board decided, in its resolution number 4 dated the 11th of February 2026, to consider the candidate who follows him from the same category and list to be Hamza Khalil Tubasi."
