Khaberni - Engineer Adnan Al-Swa'ir stated in his post: "I recently learned that I have been appointed as the president of the Board of Commissioners for Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority", adding that he will begin his new role drawing determination and inspiration from the efforts initialized by His Majesty the King for economic modernization and development across all sectors, and from the effort and attention that Petra Region deserves to achieve the highest standards among the global tourist and development destinations.
He expressed his deep gratitude to His Excellency the Prime Minister and the Cabinet for this significant trust, affirming that it will always be a responsibility he bears, and he will exert every effort to maintain and fulfill it to the best of his ability.
Al-Swa'ir mentioned that he is currently in Italy on a business trip with a Jordanian delegation, and fortuitously, the Petra Commission participated in this visit, where an agreement was reached with the Italian side to inaugurate an antiquities restoration center in Wadi Musa on April 9, which was agreed upon before he knew of his new assignment.
He also thanked Dr. Fares Al-Breizat for his considerable efforts during his presidency of the Commissioners' Council and for his wonderful achievements, confirming that meeting him will be a priority upon his return to the homeland.
He informed that he would return to Amman on Tuesday, and the reception of well-wishers will begin from 4 PM onwards on Tuesday and Wednesday at Adabian Hall - Naour. If Wednesday turns out to be the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the reception will be after Iftar.
It is mentioned that the Cabinet decided to appoint Engineer Adnan Khalaf Al-Swa'ir as the president of the Board of Commissioners, succeeding Dr. Fares Al-Breizat, with the reappointment of Dr. Shaker Al-Adwan, Dr. Fatima Al-Hilalat, Engineer Yazan Al-Muhaidin, and Engineer Mohammad Al-Habarneh as members of the board.
