8000 Jordanian Teachers Participate in the Population Census

Khaberni  - Dr. Haider Freihat, the Director-General of the Department of Statistics, has revealed that the department will utilize the services of 8,000 teachers in the final phase of the general population and housing census of 2026.

During a parliamentary meeting today, Sunday, Freihat said that the final phase, which is the actual counting of the population, will take place during the school holidays.

He added that the department is currently in the third phase, which is the enumeration phase, where the kingdom has been divided into 24,000 residential blocks smaller than a village, each encompassing about 50 to 100 families.

Freihat pointed out that the census will enumerate the number of expatriates, refugees, and labor force in Jordan, ensuring the availability of statistical data to understand the existing situation.

He clarified that all data collected during the census are completely confidential and legally protected while respecting the privacy of individuals and families.

Freihat continued, stating that the population census is conducted every 10 years, during which it enumerates the number of residents, foreigners, facilities, houses, and other important details for planning purposes.

He explained that the department has greatly incorporated technology during the current census, unlike the previous one.
