We stand in reverence for men who carried the nation on their shoulders, and remained vigilant to keep Jordan safe and secure. On an occasion that Jordan chose a deeply meaningful title for: Day of Loyalty for Retired Military and Veterans.
And here, loyalty is not just a social ritual, but a state concept; only the states that respect their accumulated experience are capable of managing their present and building their future with confidence and stability.
The retired military does not represent an end of service, but a transition in role: from leading in the field to vision creation, and from managing units to supporting the national decision. The military retiree does not retire from belonging, nor does he leave the national security equation, but rather moves to a broader sphere of giving and responsibility.
The threat environment has changed. Where it was once only a traditional military confrontation, it has become a complex mix of political pressure, economic attrition, information wars, cyber space, and attempts to dismantle societies internally before targeting their borders.
In this context, the concept of hybrid warfare emerges; it is a war that does not start with tanks, but with disrupting consciousness, undermining trust in institutions, politicizing information, and confusing the economy, so that society itself becomes an operational field.
Jordan, by virtue of its geopolitical location and regional role, is not isolated from this type of conflict. Therefore, our battle today is not only at the borders, but in the media, digital space, and protecting the national mind before protecting the land.
From here, the concept of national resilience is embodied; resilience that means not only endurance, but the ability to consciously stand firm, and build comprehensive national immunity that makes the state less penetrable and more capable of continuity and initiative.
In this context came the message of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the esteemed Joint Chiefs of Staff, emphasizing the necessity of structural transformation in the Jordanian Armed Forces to face current and future threats, including unconventional and hybrid wars, within a comprehensive vision of national security based on readiness, flexibility, and role integration.
Here, the strategic value of the retired military is highlighted; with their experience in decision-making under pressure, their deep understanding of the state from within, and their ability to link hard security with soft security, between protecting borders and protecting national consciousness.
True loyalty is not summarized in an occasion, but translated into policies of engagement and empowerment, turning the experience of retirees into an active element in building national resilience and shaping the future.
From here,
We renew loyalty to Jordan,
To our Arab Legion,
To every retired military and veteran,
as they are a strategic asset and a stable cornerstone of the state.
God bless Jordan and its Hashemite leadership,
And have mercy on those who have passed,
Wish health and well-being to the retirees,
And maintain the dignity of service and the honor of belonging for the workers
