Arab Weather Strong highpressure system on Sunday and Monday in Jordan

Khaberni - Arab Weather computer simulations indicate that, God willing, on Sunday and Monday, February 15 and 16, 2026, the Kingdom will be affected by a strong high-pressure system in the upper layers of the atmosphere and a warm air mass coming across North Africa. This air mass, by God's will, will lead to a significant and large increase in temperatures, peaking on Monday, where temperatures will reach the mid-twenties Celsius in many areas, including the capital, Amman. Such heat is believed to have not been recorded in the month of February in the Kingdom for several years.
In more detail, on Sunday, temperatures will rise to about 5-7 degrees Celsius higher than the average for this time of the year. The weather will be dusty to varying degrees, God willing, despite being warm during the noon and afternoon hours. Maximum temperatures will exceed the twenties Celsius in many areas, even approaching the mid-twenties in some cities and neighborhoods, with light to moderate southeast winds.
In the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea areas, the weather will be inclined to be warm during the noon and afternoon hours, with maximum temperatures approaching the late twenties, and the weather will also be dusty to varying degrees in those areas.
Arab Weather's modern technologies indicate that the impact of the warm air mass will increase on the Kingdom on Monday, God willing. More currents of warm and dry air will be pushed towards the Kingdom, leading to further increases in temperatures to become warmer than the usual averages for this time of the year by about 10 to 12 degrees Celsius. The weather will generally be warm, dry, and dusty to varying degrees.

It is expected that the maximum temperatures will reach and possibly exceed the mid-twenties Celsius in many cities, neighborhoods, and villages, including the eastern and southern neighborhoods of the capital Amman. It is believed that such levels have not been recorded in the month of February in the Kingdom for several years, with the last time temperatures exceeded the mid-twenties Celsius in eastern Amman being back in 2010, and it approached the mid-twenties in several subsequent years, the latest being 2021.

In the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea areas, temperatures will be around 30 degrees Celsius, and may exceed that in some areas during the afternoon and evening hours, and the weather will be relatively hot, God willing.

The winds will be moderate southeast, with active gusts stirring dust in some areas.

With Tuesday, temperatures will decrease, remaining about 4-5 degrees Celsius above the average. The weather will be partly to occasionally cloudy with clouds at different altitudes, and there is a possibility of scattered local rain showers in random areas. The winds will be moderate westerly, increasing during the afternoon hours.

Recommendations:

Avoid lightening clothing and be aware of temperature differences

Be cautious of the continuing dusty weather and its impact on people with respiratory and eye conditions
