Khaberni - The inspection and control staff at the Public Institution for Food and Drug commenced on Saturday a comprehensive regulatory campaign targeting workshops and processing plants for packaging and processing rice and grains, as part of the preparations for the holy month of Ramadan and to ensure compliance with the approved health requirements.
The institution confirmed in a press statement that the campaign, planned by the Food Plants and Laboratories section of the Food Directorate and supervised by the head of the section, Mahmoud Al-Samadi, and with the participation of several specialized inspectors, included on its first day six inspection tours of specialized rice packaging plants in Amman, Zarqa, and Sahab, in addition to regulatory tours of several retail points in Zarqa, Marka, and Sahab.
The institution indicated that the results of the tours demonstrated full compliance with the health requirements, with no violations recorded, confirming that the inspection teams also followed up on the mechanism for preparing Ramadan parcels inside the laboratories, and verified the safety of the food materials and their compliance with public safety standards and their suitability for consumption.
The institution emphasized that its inspection campaigns would continue throughout the year, calling on citizens to contribute to enhancing the control system by reporting any observations or complaints through the designated hotline.
