Khaberni - Youth Minister Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan and the President of the Board of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority "Shadi Ramzi" Al-Majali, discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation to serve the youth and sports sector and support comprehensive development pathways in the Aqaba area.
During the meeting held on Thursday at the authority's building, Al-Adwan said that the meeting comes in the context of cooperation in implementing the axes of the National Youth Strategy, and enhancing the integration between government institutions, outlining the ministry's plan to activate youth centers and develop specialized training programs that contribute to empowering young people and building their capacities to meet labor market needs, in addition to preparing youth and sports facilities to provide safe and youth-friendly spaces.
Al-Adwan referred to various programs implemented by the ministry to enhance the culture of volunteering, empower technologically skilled youths, and enhance their participation in political and economic life in line with the paths of political, economic, and administrative modernization.
For his part, Al-Majali emphasized the authority's coordination with the Ministry of Youth to benefit from the training and employment platform in the private sector, and the youth data bank platform, which contributes to building an accurate information base that assists in directing training and employment programs according to real needs, and enhances the efficiency of planning and decision-making related to youth empowerment.
Al-Majali added that the authority pays special attention to developing youth facilities and working jointly to activate them, providing an environment that nurtures creativity and innovation, and contributes to honing youth skills and involving them in the developmental process, in line with the authority's vision of investing in youth energies as a lever for economic and social development.
At the end of the meeting, which was attended by the Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Youth, Saif Ajaj, the Director of Youth in Aqaba, Ahmad Al-Hassan, and the Assistant Commissioner for Tourism and Youth Affairs at the authority, Waseem Al-Jarabaa, the two sides agreed to enhance institutional cooperation through signing a memorandum of understanding between the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and the Ministry of Youth. It includes the implementation of joint programs and initiatives in the fields of training and employment, and developing youth facilities and centers, aiming to achieve national goals in empowering youth and enhancing the role of Aqaba as a leading developmental model.
