JordanianTurkish Agreement to Manufacture 5 Boats for Maritime Border Protection

Khaberni - The Royal Navy and Boats signed on Thursday with the Turkish Defense Industries Company (ASFAT), a contract for the manufacture of 5 medium military boats dedicated to performing coast guard duties and protecting maritime borders, in addition to search and rescue missions, at the Istanbul Naval Shipyard.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Jordanian Armed Forces by the commander of the Royal Navy and Boats, and on the Turkish side by the General Manager of ASFAT, in the presence of the Commander of the Istanbul Naval Shipyard and a number of senior officers and officials from both sides.

The commander of the Royal Navy and Boats confirmed that this agreement represents a qualitative leap in the path of bilateral defense relations and reflects the level of mutual trust in Turkish maritime industries, expressing hope that this cooperation will be a starting point for a broader stage of future partnerships.

On his part, the General Manager of ASFAT expressed his pride in the trust of the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army in the company's products, noting that the boats to be manufactured will be equipped with the latest navigation, communications, and rescue systems to meet the requirements of working in various maritime conditions.

This project comes within the framework of development and modernization plans being implemented by the Jordanian Armed Forces, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Royal Navy and Boats and improving their operational readiness to protect territorial waters and safeguard national interests, following the latest technical and tactical specifications.
