Khaberni - American official documents revealed the cause of death of Canadian actress Catherine O'Hara, days after the announcement of her passing, as she died on January 30 (January) inside one of the hospitals in Los Angeles, due to a pulmonary embolism, while rectal cancer was listed as a long-term health cause, as she had been receiving treatment for it since March (March) 2025.

With O'Hara's departure, the artistic community lost one of the most prominent icons of comedy in Hollywood, after a career spanning more than five decades, during which she left an exceptional mark in cinema and television, making her one of the most beloved faces globally.

Catherine O'Hara was born in Toronto, Canada, in 1954, and grew up in a large family of seven children. Her passion for acting started early through school performances, before joining the Second City theater in Toronto, where this stage was the most significant turning point in her artistic career, during which she participated with a group of comedy stars.

After that, she embarked on a brilliant artistic journey, during which she presented timeless cinematic works, including both parts of Home Alone, where she portrayed the role of the child "Kevin's" mother, performed by Macaulay Culkin, in addition to the film Beetlejuice, and other works that cemented her presence in the audience's memory.

She was also known for her repeated collaboration with director Christopher Guest in his satirical films, such as Best in Show, Waiting for Guffman, and A Mighty Wind, along with notable voice participation in famous animated movies.

O'Hara's career experienced a strong artistic revival in her sixth decade, with her iconic role as "Moira Rose" in the series Schitt’s Creek, for which she won the Emmy Award for Best Comedy Actress in 2020, in a performance considered one of the most prominent comedy roles on television in recent years.
