In less than 10 years Musk plans to launch a selfsustained city on the moon

Khaberni - The owner of "SpaceX", Elon Musk, said today, Monday, that the company will focus on building a "self-sustaining city" on the moon's surface before turning its attention to Mars, according to the German news agency.

Musk added, on the X platform, "For your information, SpaceX has already shifted its focus to building a self-sustaining city on the moon’s surface, where we can achieve this in less than 10 years, while it will take more than 20 years on Mars."

Musk mentioned that travel to Mars is only possible every 26 months due to the alignment of the planets in the solar system, while travel to the moon is possible every 10 days.

Musk added that the trip to Mars takes six months, while it takes two days to the moon.

Musk said, "This means that we can accomplish a city on the moon's surface at a much faster pace than accomplishing it on Mars."

However, Musk confirmed that the goal of reaching Mars is still ongoing, explaining, "Nevertheless, SpaceX will also try to build a city on Mars and start doing so within about 5 to 7 years, but the highest priority is securing the future of civilization and the moon is the faster option."
