The area of Bouhajla in Kairouan governorate, central Tunisia, witnessed a horrifying murder that turned the joyous atmosphere of a wedding into a bloody tragedy, after a young man fell victim to a family dispute.
The details of the incident trace back to an altercation between the victim, a young man in his twenties, and one of his relatives during their attendance at a relative's wedding, before the dispute suddenly escalated into a serious assault.
According to preliminary data, the perpetrator ran over the victim several times using a light truck, resulting in his death at the scene, amid shock and astonishment of the attendees.
The suspect fled immediately after committing the crime, however, the units of the Research and Inspection Brigade of the Tunisian Gendarmerie in Bouhajla managed to track him down and arrest him in record time, while an investigation was opened to uncover the circumstances of the incident and to take the necessary legal actions.
