On the anniversary of Loyalty and Allegiance, the meanings of the firm covenant between the Hashemite leadership and the people are renewed in the consciousness of the Jordanians. This covenant was never a mere temporal ritual, but a national legal pillar and a value system founded on mutual trust, unity of fate, and belief that the strength and resilience of the Jordanian state stem from the cohesion of its Hashemite leadership with its people and national institutions, foremost among them the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, which has always been a symbol of sovereignty, a safety valve, and a pillar of stability in the journey of the modern state.
Since the early days of establishing the modern Jordanian state, the Hashemite leadership has been the cornerstone in the building of the Arab Army, a national inclusive institution deriving its creed from the principles of the Great Arab Revolt, and values of sacrifice, belonging, and loyalty, performing its duty in defense of the homeland and preserving its sovereignty, supporting the journey of construction and development. These Hashemite leaderships were not merely military and political leaders, but also cultural national figures who founded the identity of the Arab Army as an army of creed and message, connected to the land and the people, embodying the will and sovereignty of the state.
With the constitutional and historical transfer of responsibility to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the Jordanian Armed Forces entered a phase of comprehensive strategic development, based on modernizing military thought, building capabilities, and repositioning the Arab Army in a complex and changing regional security environment, to become more flexible, higher readiness, and deeper impact in the national security system. The Jordanians stood firm in loyalty and trust, renewing their pledge, affirming their rally around a leader who carried a great legacy and proceeded with unyielding zeal towards strengthening the state's foundations and enhancing its capabilities, truly a worthy successor to a noble predecessor.
The Jordanian Armed Forces have witnessed during a quarter-century of his reign a comprehensive qualitative transformation that affected organizational, armament, training, and operational aspects, based on deep strategic reviews that took into account the nature of the changing threats and the intertwining of security, military, and technological dimensions. Recently, His Majesty the Supreme Commander directed, may God protect and bless him, a structural transformation in the Armed Forces, and the preparation of a comprehensive strategy and a clear roadmap, aimed at developing combat and operational capabilities, and building a lean, flexible, and qualitative military force, capable of operating efficiently in various operational environments, keeping pace with the requirements of modern combat and unconventional warfare.
The directions emphasized the importance of aligning the organizational structure of the Armed Forces with the nature of operational tasks, updating command, control, and communications systems, and enhancing integration between branches and formations and units, along with expanding the use of advanced military technology, including unmanned systems and cyber capabilities. The directives also included enhancing the capabilities of reserve forces, developing the logistical support system to ensure sustainability and the smooth flow of supply chains, and supporting national defense industries based on professional modern principles that contribute to self-sufficiency and enhance operational efficiency.
Despite the significant material and technical developments, the Jordanian soldier remains the core of strength in the Arab Army, based on the creed of loyalty to God, the country, and leadership, discipline, and the spirit of sacrifice, which perpetually renews the covenant to their Supreme Commander, on the anniversary of Loyalty and Allegiance, ensuring that our Armed Forces - the Arab Army remain the strong shield and bastion of the nation, continuing the journey of modernization and development, steadfast in its national creed, faithful to its mission, so that the flag of Jordan remains proudly waving high, and its state strong and impenetrable, under the wise Hashemite leadership.
