Barcelona Refuses to Cancel Ter Stegen Deal with Girona

Khaberni -  Spanish media confirmed that FC Barcelona has rejected Girona's request to return German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and cancel the deal.

Radio Culer reported that the Catalan club insisted on adhering to the terms previously agreed upon between the clubs.

This decision comes after Girona attempted to reclaim the player due to his registration with their squad since January 25th, however, new rules from the Spanish Football Federation prevent re-registering any player with the same club within the same season, except in cases of force majeure.

According to the previous agreement between the clubs, Barcelona demanded Girona pay a fee of 500,000 euros, after Ter Stegen successfully passed the medical examination and played two official matches with the team, which validates the deal.

Barcelona confirmed that the terms of the contract are clear and that any attempts to cancel the agreement after the player has participated in matches will not be acceptable, while Girona will continue negotiations to settle the matter within the legal framework of both clubs and the Spanish Federation.
