A Strange Coincidence Solves the Mystery of the Missing German Handball League Trophy

Khaberni  - Füchse Berlin, the German handball league champions, found their stolen trophy in the club office basement.

The club's managing director, Bob Hanning, told the German news agency today, Monday, that the staff found the trophy behind cardboard boxes during an inventory process.

Hanning noted that the trophy disappeared in November after thieves used a master key and a transmitter receiver to break into the place, prompting the club to file a theft report.

After about two months, the police arrested two suspects, but they did not find the trophy, raising fears that it might have been melted down.

The German club and the police are currently investigating whether the perpetrators had hidden the trophy in the basement to plan its later removal.

The president of the German Handball League association, Frank Baumann, had previously promised Füchse Berlin a new trophy. Hanning responded to this proposal: "It is no longer necessary, the order has been canceled."
