Greater Amman Municipality announces Extreme Water emergency starting Tuesday

Khaberni - The Greater Amman Municipality has declared an "Extreme Water" emergency effective Tuesday morning, to deal with the weather depression impacting the Kingdom, according to spokesperson Nasser Al-Rahamneh.

Al-Rahamneh confirmed the readiness of the Municipality's field teams to handle any reports received by the Tla al-Ali emergency room, urging citizens to call the unified call center numbers "102 and 117180" if they notice any issues.

He called for the necessity of taking precautions and being cautious by staying away from the paths of valleys and low-lying areas, and not to dispose of waste randomly as it may cause the closure of rainwater drainage lines.

He emphasized the importance of inspecting the submersible pumps in basements and commercial stores that are below street level, and for traders to take precautionary measures when storing goods in warehouses and sub-level floors.

Al-Rahamneh urged contractors and owners of construction projects to secure building materials to prevent them from being washed away and directly causing the closure of rainwater drainage lines.
