Ministry of Public Works Addressing the Majority of Hotspots and Continuing Preparedness for the Winter Season

Khaberni - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing said on Wednesday that the ministry has addressed the majority of "hotspots" identified during the previous weather depressions.

It added that some locations will be dealt with as part of a comprehensive plan that takes into account risk factors and priorities.

The ministry pointed out that the cost has not yet been finalized as some work has been assigned to contractors and some has been executed by the ministry’s staff and machinery.

The ministry confirmed the continuation of its precautionary plan for the winter season, which includes increasing the readiness of technical and field personnel, activating emergency rooms around the clock, monitoring rainwater drainage channels, culverts, and main roads, in addition to continuous coordination with relevant authorities to ensure a rapid response to any emergencies.

The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abu Al-Semen, conducted an extensive field tour yesterday, Tuesday, covering several vital work sites in the Dead Sea area and the Karak governorate, to monitor the progress of projects addressing flood damage, protecting water facilities, and developing the main road network.
