A cold air front crosses over the Kingdom during the afternoon and evening of Wednesday accompanied by heavy rain and hail showers
Weather specialists expect the weather to be relatively cold and partly cloudy during the day on Wednesday, with rain falling in some areas, and gradually during the afternoon and evening hours, the Kingdom begins with the deep atmospheric depression, where a high-effectiveness cold air front crosses the skies, and the rain intensifies to become heavy at times accompanied by lightning and thunder and hail showers in several areas including Aqaba city, increasing the chances of floods.
The rain intensifies over Aqaba city with the early hours of Wednesday/Thursday night and winter-like weather continues in other areas
And into the hours of Wednesday/Thursday night, the rain at times becomes heavy in Aqaba city, while rain continues to fall intermittently in other areas.
With the dawn hours of Thursday, the impact of the atmospheric depression gradually intensifies on the southern areas, and the rain becomes thundery heavy at times and accompanied by frequent heavy hail showers, and the possibility of snow showers on high southern mountain peaks (Tafila highs like Al Qadisiyah and Al Rashadiyah, in addition to the Sharah mountain range west of Ma'an, and these snows will accumulate, God willing, and the thickness of the snow increases with altitude above sea level)
Thursday, March 26, 2026: The peak of the atmospheric depression impacts the southern areas in the form of heavy rain and hail showers and snow on the highs of Tafila and west Ma'an
And a noticeable drop in temperatures occurs, to become lower than the average by about 7-9 degrees Celsius, and the weather will be cold and cloudy with rain and hail showers from time to time, and the rain will be heavy with hail showers in some central areas especially the capital and Madaba during the morning hours until just before noon.
Over time, the rainy weather concentrates in the southern areas, where heavy rain with hail showers is expected, increasing the chances of forming floods and transferred floods in those areas.
Snow is expected to fall during the dawn and morning hours on the high mountainous elevations in the south of the Kingdom (Sharah mountains), and the precipitations become more regular over time during the day, and it is not excluded that they accumulate especially on high peaks, while snow falls intermittently and accompanied by frequent heavy hail showers sometimes in the general southern mountainous elevations.
The winds will be moderate southwesterly, and increase significantly in the afternoon and evening.

Thursday/Friday night and Friday: The weather will be cold and cloudy, with rain falling from time to time, heavy in the southern highlands with chances of forming floods. The rain continues on Friday intermittently, with fog and clouds touching the ground on mountainous highlands.
Given the soil saturation and the ground with moisture and prior heavy rains for several days during the past week, caution is advised from:
1) Running valleys and streams
2) Formation of floods, including the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea areas
3) Occurrence of water pools on the roads
4) The possibility of soil and rock drifts especially in the southern areas
