Khaberni - Jordanian customs statistical data showed that Chinese-origin electric vehicles have dominated the majority of the Jordanian market in the year 2025, capturing 87%.
According to statistical data obtained by the "Xinhua" news agency, the number of Chinese-manufactured electric vehicles that were custom cleared and entered the Jordanian market last year was 42,348 vehicles, out of a total of 48,413 electric vehicles from various countries.
It is noted that the presence of Chinese electric vehicles in the Jordanian market has increased in recent years after proving their efficiency and merit in terms of advanced technology and compliance with the highest international safety standards in their manufacturing.
According to a previous statement by "Xinhua", a representative of the vehicle sector in the Jordan Free Zones Investors Authority, Jihad Abu Nasser, confirmed that all vehicles coming from China to Jordan meet the approved technical specifications, as each vehicle undergoes rigorous inspections by Jordanian authorities before entering the market to ensure their compliance with the approved safety and security standards.
Experts indicate that between 80 to 90% of the total electric vehicles imported to the market in Jordan during 2023 and 2024 are Chinese-made with a market share of 40% for Chinese brands such as "Changan", "BYD", and "Dongfeng", surpassing vehicles from "Toyota" and "Kia".
