Iran exports 46 million barrels and continues to breach the American blockade in Hormuz

Khaberni - The oil shipment tracking platform "Tanker Trackers," today, Sunday, reported that about 4 million additional barrels of Iranian oil managed to bypass the American maritime blockade, adding that Iran loaded 4.6 million barrels of crude at its ports.

The platform added on its X account that based on tracking data and satellite images, oil shipments valued at about $1.05 billion returned to Iran after being intercepted by the US Navy.

The same source pointed out that the US Navy seized Iranian oil shipments valued at about $380 million in the Indian Ocean, apparently headed to the United States.

Continuous Flows
Reuters reported three days ago, citing data analytics firm Vortexa, that about 10.7 million barrels of Iranian oil passed through the Strait of Hormuz between April 13 and 21, following the enforcement of the American blockade on April 13.

Vortexa's data clarified that the shipments were transported on 6 tankers that turned off their tracking systems, a practice used to reduce detectability of their routes.

Futhermore, Vortexa recorded 35 crossings by vessels linked to Iran during the period between April 13 and 22, indicating a continuation of Iranian maritime activity despite US restrictions.

Widespread Breaches
Bloomberg reported that 34 oil tankers linked to Iran managed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, while The Wall Street Journal noted that more than 24 ships loaded with oil and gas evaded the embargo, based on data from "Lloyd's List Intelligence".

In contrast, the US Central Command said the day before yesterday, Friday, that it forced 37 ships to return, as part of applying the maritime blockade on vessels coming to or from Iranian ports, according to the same source.

Satellite images showed two giant tankers, "Hero 2" and "Hidy," crossing into the Arabian Sea on April 20, carrying up to 4 million barrels.

Despite these breaches, the pace of navigation linked to Iran through the strait has slowed to between one and two tankers per day, compared to a rate of between two and three tankers per day before the US imposed the maritime blockade.
