Khaberni - Palestinian-Syrian artist Wael Abu Ghazaleh announced his final retirement from acting through a series of posts on his personal Facebook account.
The actor, who was one of the stars of the series "Bab Al-Hara" in its fourth season as the character "Abu Ahmad," said: "How trivial I was when I pursued acting... a definite schizophrenia from reality."
He continued in a subsequent post: "To be an actor among a group who pretend to be cultured and suffer from split personality... inevitably means that you are backward like them."
He added: "It’s a disaster to be a talented actor and think you are a hero in life," before surprising his followers with his decision: "I announce my retirement from the acting profession irrevocably, what a foolish decision it was, humanitarian professions should be in civilized societies."
Previously, in September last year, Abu Ghazaleh announced the beginning of his work as a professional and licensed real estate consultant, while keeping acting as a hobby he returns to "when nostalgia calls," as he put it.
