New Developments in the Saad Lamjarred Case and Financial Extortion Accusations

Khaberni - The case of artist Saad Lamjarred has witnessed notable developments after presenting new data related to an attempt of financial extortion, coinciding with the start of appeal sessions at the Paris court.

The Moroccan artist Saad Lamjarred's name has returned to the forefront again, following his defense team's appeal against the verdict issued against him, based on what they described as "new" data in the case.

The first session to consider the appeal took place in Paris recently, where Lamjarred's lawyer revealed details about an attempt of financial extortion his client faced, stating that the complainant asked for 3 million euros in exchange for withdrawing rape accusations.

Lamjarred attended the session accompanied by his wife and his legal team, while the court decided to summon the defendants linked to the extortion suspicion to appear for questioning.

In contrast, the complainant's defense team requested to postpone the session, justifying this by their lack of full access to the case file, pointing out a deficiency in some documents which they described as "essential" for preparing their arguments.

However, the Moroccan artist's defense rejected this argument, affirming their commitment to provide all documents according to the applicable legal procedures, which led to a debate in the courtroom that ended with the session being adjourned for deliberation.

The court decided at the end of the deliberation to reject the postponement request and to resume sessions in the coming days, amid high anticipation from the artist's fans and case followers.
