Mbappé Heals Brahim Diazs Wounds with a Panenka Shot

Khaberni -  Kylian Mbappé sent a clear message of support to his Real Madrid teammate Brahim Diaz after scoring a 'Panenka' styled penalty in his team's win against Villarreal, confirming that his choice of this style was a direct gift to the Moroccan player after what he went through in the past days.

Real Madrid emerged victorious from the game at La Ceramica stadium, winning 2-0 against Villarreal, both goals signed by Mbappé who opened the scoring at the beginning of the second half, before sealing the game in the injury time. This victory placed the team temporarily at the top of La Liga, awaiting Barcelona’s game, and provided a strong boost to coach Alvaro Arbeloa’s squad in the title race.

In contrast, the second penalty had a clear humanitarian dimension, as Mbappé calmly executed it with a 'Panenka' shot in the middle of the goal, exploiting goalkeeper Luis Junior’s rush to the right side.

After the goal, the cameras captured the moment the French star spoke towards Brahim Diaz repeating: "For you, for you," as a direct reference to his teammate.

It is worth mentioning that Brahim had a tough week after missing a penalty in the same way in the Africa Cup of Nations final with the Moroccan national team against Senegal, when goalkeeper Édouard Mendy saved it, before the 'Atlas Lions' lost the match by a goal without a response. The incident brought widespread criticism to the player, despite his quick apology and acceptance of responsibility.
