Khaberni - The Secretary of State of the Vatican, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, stated that Pope Leo XIV received an invitation from the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to join the Peace Council in Gaza, noting that he is considering the available options.
Parolin said today, Wednesday, that the Vatican needs some time to deeply study the available options, pointing out that the request will not involve financial participation, as the Vatican is in a position "that does not allow it".
Parolin renewed the Vatican's support for the two-state solution, pointing out that "our direction is clear towards a two-state solution.. As the Holy See, we recognized the state of Palestine a while ago, and other states have joined this stance after the events in the Gaza Strip".
