From America to Europe A raccoon crosses the Atlantic hiding inside a car and baffles Belarus customs Video

Khaberni - Belarusian customs authorities revealed an interesting occurrence, where customs officers in "Grodno" and workers at "Bel Timoz Service" found a live raccoon inside a maritime shipping container coming from the United States.

The discovery occurred during the process of unloading and transporting passenger vehicles that were loaded within the container, where the animal settled on top of the dashboard of one of the vehicles.

Initial estimates suggest that the raccoon managed to sneak into the container during the loading phase in American territory, traveling a long journey across the Atlantic Ocean to the "Kameny Log" customs clearance facility.

The animal faced harsh conditions during the journey, appearing extremely hungry upon being discovered, but miraculously managed to survive throughout the international shipping period, according to "REFORM.news".

Customs authorities took immediate measures upon finding the unexpected passenger, providing the necessary care until specialized experts arrived.

The raccoon was later transferred to the veterinary station in "Oshmyany" to spend the mandatory quarantine period, where it is currently under close observation by doctors to monitor its health condition and ensure its safety from diseases.

The authorities are currently considering several options for the future of "the American traveler" after the end of the quarantine period, with possibilities ranging from releasing it into the "Nalibokskaya Pushcha" nature reserve, or relocating it to live in the "Grodno" zoo.

The final decision will completely depend on the veterinary reports and the animal's ability to adapt to the new local environment, while the State Customs Committee has confirmed that it will continue to monitor the condition of this unconventional guest until its situation is permanently stabilized in its new habitat.
