Khaberni - "News 24" mentioned that animal protection activist Shuman Van Yarsveld, who had devoted his life to protecting rhinos in South Africa, lost his life in a rhino attack.
The site's report stated: "The director of the environmental protection company, who dedicated his life to rhino conservation, was killed by one of the animals he had dedicated his career to protecting."
The deceased, who was the director of Milk River Security and was 58 years old, was conducting a morning patrol with his team in the "Samara Karoo" reserve when suddenly a black rhino weighing 1300 kilograms charged at him, causing fatal injuries that led to his immediate death on the scene.
His company is involved in combating illegal poaching, as well as providing security and protection for rhino populations in several areas of South Africa.
It should be noted that South Africa holds the largest share of rhino populations in the world, and the country has been fighting a severe poaching crisis for many years, which has put the black rhino in danger of extinction.
