Former Prime Minister Ahmed Obeidat is recovering

Khaberni - Former Jordanian Prime Minister Ahmed Obeidat (Abu Tamer) is recovering, receiving treatment, amidst wishes for his safety from his fans and fellow citizens.

Obeidat is one of the prominent political figures in the recent history of Jordan; he was born on November 18, 1938 in the village of Hartha in Bani Kinanah department of Irbid province, and holds a degree in Law from the University of Baghdad.

Throughout his career, Obeidat held several high-ranking positions, notably:

Director of General Intelligence (1974–1982)

Minister of Interior (1980–1984)

Prime Minister and Minister of Defense (1984–1985)

Member of the Senate

President of the Jordanian Environmental Society (1988)

UN Ambassador for Humanitarian Affairs (1990)

Member of the Senate (1997)
