Khaberni - The US President, Donald Trump, praised on Thursday the "wonderful gesture" by Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who presented him with a Nobel Peace Prize medal during their meeting at the White House.
He wrote on his platform "Truth Social", "Maria presented me the Nobel Peace Prize she won in recognition of the work I accomplished. What a wonderful gesture that reflects mutual respect. Thank you, Maria!".
Earlier, the Venezuelan opposition leader stated that she "presented" the Nobel Peace Prize she had won to Trump despite her exclusion from Washington's Venezuela strategy.
Machado told "Fox News", "He deserves it. It was a very emotional moment".
Machado told reporters outside the Capitol building after her meeting with Trump at the White House, "I presented the US president with the Nobel Peace Prize medal".
