After Sweeping the 2026 Golden Globes Announcing a Second Season for the Teen Series

Khaberni - In a surprise for foreign drama fans, Steven Graham, one of the creators of the crime and drama series "The Teen," excited audiences by revealing the possibility of a second season of the work, following the significant success it achieved and the many awards it recently garnered, as it won 6 awards at the 2025 Emmy Awards ceremony before sweeping the 2026 Golden Globes, where it won 4 and 6 awards, respectively.

Graham's statements came after winning Best Actor in a Television Miniseries, as he revealed during his backstage talk that discussions are indeed ongoing between him and his writing partner Jack Thorne about the future of the series.

"I can't be sure of anything right now, as the idea is still stuck in my mind and Jack's, and we might bring it to light in the next three or four years.. Stay tuned," Graham said in an interview with "Deadline," reported by "India Today."

The Story
The work revolves around the story of a father who is stunned after his 13-year-old son commits a horrific crime by killing his classmate.

Graham portrays the father "Eddie Miller," while Owen Cooper plays his son "Jimmy," in a notable performance that led him to win the Best Supporting Actor award, while Erin Doherty garnered the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as the psychotherapist "Briony Ariston."

Discussions on the Second Part
In April last year, the co-presidents of "Plan B" company, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, hinted at existing talks with director Philip Barantini regarding the "next version" of the work, pointing to their desire to expand the series' world while maintaining its core spirit without falling into the trap of repetition, without revealing further details.

During the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, "The Teen" received five nominations, from which it won four major awards: (Best Limited Series, Best Actor in a Limited Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series, and Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series)

Widespread Buzz
Since its premiere on March 13th last year on Netflix, the British series has drawn attention, thanks to its shocking treatment, highlighting issues related to masculinity, the impact of the digital world on teenagers, and flaws in the legal system, which makes it an exciting dramatic experience worth watching, as it renews the debate known as the "Incel" movement.

The term "Incel" is an abbreviation for "Involuntary Celibate," and the majority bearing this description are males, who feel rejected by women and accuse them of despising and manipulating men, some of whom encourage attacking women.
