AlShaker explains the chance of snow falling on the peaks of Jordan

Khaberni - The CEO of Arab Weather states that it is not unlikely that showers of snow will fall in the morning hours of Tuesday, 13/1/2026, over the high northern and central mountain peaks, which include the peaks of Jerash and Ajloun mountains such as Abein, Abileen, and the Base Triangle, as well as the mountain peaks in Balqa like Um Al-Jozeh, and the capital Amman's peaks such as the area of Sweileh and the Jordanian University, in addition to the high mountains in Mafraq governorate adjacent to Jabal Al-Arab (heights of Deir Al-Kahf and surrounds).

He added that the accumulation of these showers may be temporary and only for a short period, with a higher likelihood for the northern peaks, and therefore, widespread snowfall is not expected.

With the hours after the afternoon, the precipitation is expected to extend to parts of Tafilah governorate in the form of snow showers over the peaks of Qadisiyah and Rashadiyah.

It is also expected that the precipitation will include snow showers on the peaks of the Sharah mountains, including Rashadiyah and Qadisiyah in Tafilah governorate, and the peaks of Shobak, Petra District, and South Taybeh and west of Ma'an governorate, with the possibility of frost occurring on the peaks of the Sharah mountains.
