Syria Arrest of ISIS leaders for bombing the Imam Ali Mosque

Khaberni - The Syrian Ministry of the Interior announced the arrest of two members of the terrorist organization ISIS, accused of planning and executing the bombing that targeted the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in Wadi Al-Dhahab neighborhood in the city of Homs on December 26th (December).

The Syrian Ministry of Interior stated in a post on the X platform today, Monday: "Our security units in Homs governorate, in cooperation with the General Intelligence Directorate, conducted a precise security operation during which Ahmad Atallah Diab and Anas Zarrad, who belong to the terrorist organization ISIS and were responsible for the bombing targeting the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in Wadi al-Dhahab neighborhood, were arrested."


In a related context, the Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported the Ministry of Interior saying in a post on its “Telegram” channel today: "After a series of precise security operations, the Internal Security Directorate in the Northern Countryside region of Latakia governorate, in cooperation with the Counter-Terrorism Branch, managed to arrest leaders in a terrorist cell known as Lieutenant Abbas, affiliated with the terrorist 'Shield of the Coast Brigade', most notably Jaafar Ali Aliya, known as Lieutenant Abbas, in addition to Rashid Ghiath Aliya and Ali Abdul Sattar Khalilou."

The Syrian Ministry added: "Initial investigations proved the cell's involvement in targeting internal security points and the army in Latakia governorate, and the investigations also revealed the involvement of the fugitive criminal Muqdad Fatiha in financing this cell with financial and logistical support, as the cell members appeared in visual clips threatening to carry out terrorist attacks against locations affiliated with the Ministries of Interior and Defense."


The ministry noted that "the arrested individuals were referred to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them, while the security services continue to pursue the rest of the group members until their complete eradication, ensuring the security and stability of the region."
