Khaberni - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said today, Thursday, that his country wishes to establish comprehensive cooperative relations with Lebanon, affirming its support for its sovereignty and national unity.
Araghchi stated during a press conference in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, that he will hold discussions with the Presidents of the Republic, Deputies and Ministers, and the Foreign Minister in Lebanon, emphasizing that the main purpose of his visit to Lebanon is to discuss various regional and global issues.
He added: "We are determined to enhance our relations with Lebanon based on mutual respect and shared interests," indicating that the trade exchange with Beirut reached 110 million dollars.
The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that the region "currently faces unprecedented threats, such as those posed by the Zionist entity, which is violating the commitments stipulated by the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon."
He confirmed that his country consults continuously with all governments and countries in the region, saying that his visit comes at a crucial time in Lebanon.
On another note, the Iranian Foreign Minister said that America and Israel have tested an attack on Iran and their strategy has miserably failed, but he expressed his country's readiness to negotiate with the United States based on mutual respect and interests.
He said: "We are ready for any situation and do not desire war, but we are prepared for it and also ready to negotiate."
