Spain Welcomes Sending Peacekeeping Troops to Gaza

Khaberni - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced today, Thursday, his readiness to send personnel as part of peacekeeping forces in Gaza, whenever "the opportunity arises", as previously done in Ukraine.

During a congratulation ceremony in Madrid for Spanish ambassadors on the occasion of the new year, the Spanish Prime Minister said: "I will propose to the parliament, when the opportunity arises, to deploy peacekeeping forces in Palestine, when we are finally able to determine how to proceed with calming efforts.

 

Azeri President Ilham Aliyev announced a few days ago that his country does not intend to send a unit of its forces to participate in peacekeeping operations outside its borders, including in Gaza.


Aliyev added, in an interview with Azerbaijani television channels, that his country had been in contact with the American administration under Donald Trump regarding a set of questions related to a peacekeeping force in Gaza.
