City Continues to Bleed Points Giving Arsenal Chance to Pull Ahead

Khaberni  - Manchester City continues to lose points in the Premier League football championship, failing to secure a win for the third consecutive match in the competition.

Manchester City fell into the trap of a 1-1 draw with their guest Brighton on Wednesday evening, in the 21st round of the competition, at the "Etihad" stadium, the home of the sky-blue team.

Norwegian star Erling Haaland opened the scoring for Manchester City in the 41st minute from a penalty kick, scoring again after having not found the net in the previous three stages, reinforcing his lead in the competition's top scorers list this season with 20 goals.

In the second half, Japanese player Kaoru Mitoma scored the equalizer for Brighton in the 60th minute, as both teams attempted to snatch the winning goal in the final minutes of the match, but to no avail.

As a result, Manchester City, which drew nil-nil with their host Sunderland and 1-1 with their guest Chelsea in the previous two rounds, now holds 43 points in second place, 5 points behind the leader Arsenal, who can extend the gap with its competitor to 8 points with a win over their guest Liverpool on Thursday evening, in the top match of the 21st round.

As for Brighton, which has avoided defeat for the third consecutive match in the championship, it has moved up to 29 points in the tenth position.
