Khaberni - Ziad Al-Saaydeh, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, announced the readiness of the Commission to receive complaints from all Jordanians in case there are discrepancies in electricity bills.
Al-Saaydeh added during a parliamentary meeting to discuss the file of complaints about high electricity bills during some months, that the doors of the Commission are open to receive any notes and complaints from citizens and follow them through to the end.
He pointed out that the Commission follows up these complaints by visiting citizens in their homes as part of its field tours to observe the pattern of consumption and the devices used.
He revealed that the percentage of Jordanians covered by the first tariff notch of 600 kilowatts per month reached 93% of the total users in the kingdom.
He also mentioned that the electrical load increased by 1700 megawatts reaching 4275 megawatts during December compared to the previous months when the load did not exceed 2600 megawatts.
He emphasized that the Commission has finally managed to enhance and raise the efficiency and sustainability of electricity delivery; the electricity loss decreased by 3%, which is an indicator of cost reduction. Additionally, there is an increased speed of response to reconnect the electric current during any emergency.
