What is the toxic substance found in Nestle milk after it was withdrawn from the market

Khaberni - Yesterday Monday, Nestlé Switzerland announced the withdrawal of specific batches of infant milk in several European countries, including Germany, Austria, Denmark, Italy, and Sweden, as a precautionary measure to ensure consumer safety.

The company explained in a statement published on its website that it detected a "quality issue" related to one of the ingredients used in some infant nutrition products, which was obtained from one of its main suppliers.

Injuries
Nestlé immediately began conducting precise tests on all arachidonic acid oils and their related oil blends involved in the manufacturing of the potentially affected products.

The company confirmed that, so far, no cases related to the consumption of the concerned products have been recorded or confirmed, emphasizing that the recall was motivated by caution and commitment to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Nestlé mentioned that it is in continuous contact with the authorities in the affected countries to ensure all necessary steps are taken according to approved procedures, also reassuring parents and caregivers of its serious commitment to the matter, including withdrawing products when necessary.

Disturbances due to a toxic substance
Nestlé France announced a "preventive and voluntary" recall operation for some batches of infant milk sold under the brands "Gigouz" and "Nidal," after internal investigations indicated the potential presence of the toxic substance "ceriulide," which could lead to disturbances in the digestive system.

In the same context, Nestlé published on its websites in the relevant countries pictures and numbers of the batches involved in the recall, which are marketed under different brand names, urging consumers to check the products they have.

In a separate statement, the company affirmed that the safety and health of children are of utmost priority for them, noting that the recall is voluntary and in line with the strict quality protocols it adopts, also calling on parents who purchased these batches not to use them and to contact customer services for refunds or alternative guidance, and to consult health specialists in case of any concerns regarding the health of the children.
