Rodriguez sworn in as acting president of Venezuela

Khaberni  - Delcy Rodriguez, the Venezuelan vice president and oil minister, officially took the oath on Monday as interim president of the country, as President Nicolas Maduro appeared in a court in New York on drug-related charges after being ousted from power by the Trump administration in a military action at the start of the week.

And Rodriguez, a 56-year-old labor lawyer well-known for her close ties to the private sector and loyalty to the ruling party, took the oath in front of her brother Jorge, the president of the National Assembly.
Also today, 283 deputies who were elected in May took their oaths. Only a few of them are classified as opposition, as most of the opposition members boycotted the elections, especially the group led by Nobel laureate Maria Corina Machado.
The only deputy who did not attend was First Lady Celia Flores, who is being held by the United States.
