Jerash Governor Temporary closure of Sidon Street in Al Zarqa for rock and soil removal

Khaberni - The Governor of Jerash, Malek Khrisat, decided to temporarily close Sidon Street in Al Zarqa (Al Majdal), which leads to the Borma district as a precautionary measure; to maintain public safety.

Khrisat stated that the decision to close the street was precautionary until the completion of the rock and dirt removal from the roadside, to ensure they do not collapse onto the road.

He added that the Ministry of Public Works teams, after conducting a technical study by specialists in the Jerash Works Directorate and coordinating with the relevant authorities, Jerash Police and Traffic Department, decided to temporarily close the street until all necessary works are completed.

Khrisat explained that the stretch of road involved in the works measures 350 meters, noting that the road experienced soil and rock drifts during the recent low-pressure weather system, which were immediately addressed.

He pointed out that the works involve the removal of rocks and soil to ensure that they do not drift again, noting that the soil at the southern entrance of Jerash is loose.

Khrisat clarified that informational signs have been placed at the work site, calling on road users to adhere to the issued instructions until all works are completed, and the road is reopened to traffic.
