Khaberni - Recent reports uncovered an unexpected technical issue faced by users of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, as these devices began emitting strange sounds described by users as resembling old radio interference.
The emergence of complaints across different platforms
Complaints have notably spread across various platforms including "Reddit", "MacRumors" forums, and the Apple Support community, where affected users reported hearing a buzzing or hissing noise from the phone's speakers specifically during charging.
Some users described the sound as appearing when playing audio content and then lowering the volume, while others confirmed hearing the interference even without playing any content, with several reporting a faint clicking or buzzing sound while browsing web pages.
Users also noted that the problem occurs with all types of chargers, including official Apple chargers and MagSafe chargers, although the latter emit a less severe sound, and the noise disappears immediately once the phone is disconnected from the charger, indicating that the problem is related to the charging process.
Apple's response and proposed solutions
A user contacted Apple support, who reported that the issue had been referred to the company’s engineering team, and Apple is currently working on a solution, but updates released from iOS 26 so far have not addressed the issue.
One of the official Apple stores offered a complete device replacement for an affected user, but some who replaced their devices encountered the same issue with the new devices, suggesting that the problem may be related to a specific production batch or a particular component in the devices.
An ongoing issue without definitive solutions
It is worth noting that the problem primarily affects the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models, while there have been no similar reports concerning the standard iPhone 17 model.
Most users described the sound as light to moderate in intensity, indicating the possibility that the issue might be more widespread, but only noticeable to those with a high sensitivity to sounds.
So far, Apple has not issued an official statement confirming the problem or clarifying its causes, while speculations continue as to whether it is a hardware issue related to charging components or a software glitch that could be fixed in a future update.
