Khaberni - The famous Dutch seismologist Frank Hoogerbeets warned on Tuesday of the potential for strong seismic activity in the early days of 2026.
In a video posted on his "YouTube" channel, Hoogerbeets claimed that the planetary alignment between Mercury, the Sun, Uranus, as well as the alignment of Earth, Uranus, the Moon, Venus, and Mars at the beginning of January, indicates the possibility of strong seismic activity.
The Dutch expert confirmed that the astronomical effects will peak on January 3, and the critical period will extend from January 7 to 9.
He said: "We may witness significant seismic activity on January 4, with a possible deviation of one day. The strength of the seismic activity usually ranges between 5 and 6 degrees, or even 7 degrees in the worst case, and this is a possible scenario."
He confirmed that the seismic strength depends on the stress in the Earth's crust and plate tectonics, which is difficult to measure.
He also predicted that seismic activity would be strongest between January 8 and 9 due to the peak of the planetary conjunctions, and it might reach a strength of 7 degrees, and in extreme cases, 8 degrees.
The expert called for extreme caution starting from January 7, warning the residents of cities situated in earthquake-prone areas, such as Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Istanbul, about the possibility of an earthquake, emphasizing the need to take necessary precautions to face the potential major earthquake.
