Former Prime Minister of Qatar Hamad bin Jassim Arabs Have Not Learned the Lesson

Khaberni - Former Prime Minister of Qatar Hamad bin Jassim said, "The tragedy of the Arab nation continues to worsen," warning of entities and countries that exploit the ongoing Arab weakness to achieve political and financial gains at the expense of the Arabs.

Bin Jassim wrote in a post on his "X" platform, "As 2025 nears its end and a new year begins, the tragedy of the Arab nation and the challenges it has faced for decades continue to worsen, with the recent painful chapter being the tragedy of Gaza and Palestine."

He observed that these challenges are clear to everyone, yet the Arab states have so far failed to confront any of them, stressing that he does not say this as an accusation against those who lead the Arab world today, but rather repeats a truth and an opinion believed by a large percentage of the Arab populations for a long time.

He explained that the Arab reality continues to deteriorate in the areas of economy, education, health, and politics, particularly in the fields of war and security, and as a result, Arab rights are being lost one after another, as is the case in Palestine, Yemen, Sudan, Iraq, and in Syria, which he said has become unstable, expressing hope at the same time that Syria will proceed on the right path despite its difficulty and numerous obstacles.

Bin Jassim added that there are entities and countries, as everyone knows, exploiting this ongoing Arab weakness to achieve political and financial gains at the expense of the Arabs, explaining that he is not accusing any particular entity, but he holds all Arabs responsible for the negligence and acceptance of humiliation, unlike what other nations do.

He continued saying that "the Arabs have not learned the lesson and have not benefitted from what Europe and others do, and have not learned either at the level of the League of Arab States, which is supposed to reflect the unity of Arab positions, or at the level of the countries themselves."

He considered that the current Arab situation is enviable to no one, amid the loss of rights and the usurpation of lands, while Arab action is limited to establishing strong relations with countries believed to be capable of protecting them and their security interests, ignoring the fact that these countries look only to their own interests, and change their alliances accordingly, just as one changes clothes, a lesson he said both ancient and modern history has taught everyone.
