Khaberni - The spill process in Wadi Shueib Dam has started following the low-pressure weather system affecting Jordan and its filling with rainwater.
Director of the Kafrein and Wadi Shueib dams, Taysir Al-Habis, said that over the past two hours, the dam has been reinforced with 700,000 cubic meters, indicating that the momentary flow has reached 45 cubic meters per second, according to Al-Mamlaka.
Al-Habis added that the total storage capacity of the dam amounts to 1.5 million cubic meters, pointing out that a quarter of a million cubic meters of the spillover water will be stored in the Eastern Ghor canal.
He mentioned that the storage capacity of Kafrein Dam has currently reached about 4.5 million cubic meters of its total capacity (8.5 million cubic meters).
The Jordan Valley Authority has called on citizens, farmers, and residents in the areas below the dam to take necessary precautions and adhere to the instructions of the competent authorities.
