Researching Food Traders Demands in Preparation for Ramadan in Jordan

Khaberni - The Ministers of Industry, Trade, Supply, Engineer Yarub Qudah, and Agriculture, Dr. Saeb Khreisat emphasized their keenness to address any difficulties food traders face and to align market needs with the interests of traders and local production sectors to ensure the abundance of supply goods and meeting the needs of citizens, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan when consumption rates increase.

This came during a meeting held at the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply today to discuss the demands of the food trade sector in preparation for the blessed month of Ramadan and to strengthen the strategic stock of various supply materials, enabling traders to continue their business activities as usual.

The meeting included the Presidents of Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce / Foodstuff Traders Syndicate Dean Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Dana Al-Zu’bi, the General Director of the Food and Drug Administration Dr. Rana Obaidat, and members of the Foodstuff Traders Syndicate and traders of supply materials.

The two ministers showed interest in the demands presented during the meeting, which will be studied and responded to in a way that serves the interests of all parties and meets the needs of the local market for various goods, whether produced locally or imported from different origins.

Al-Haj Tawfiq and the traders highlighted the most prominent demands of the food trade sector and the necessity to address the difficulties they face to maintain the abundance of goods in the local market as usual, especially during the blessed month of Ramadan.

The ministers directed the formation of a committee comprising representatives from the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Agriculture, the Public Corporation for Food and Drug, and the Foodstuff Traders Syndicate to study some of the demands made by food traders regarding the import processes of some goods.
