Khaberni - Jordanian researchers have achieved a significant scientific breakthrough, after more than 500 studies and global scientific research adopted the research model they presented in their 2020 published study, making it one of the most prominent reference models in the field of public health and health communication during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The research was published in the prestigious international journal JMIR Public Health and Surveillance under the title:
Influence of Social Media Platforms on Public Health Protection Against the COVID-19 Pandemic via the Mediating Effects of Public Health Awareness and Behavioral Changes: Integrated Model,
and was prepared by researchers: Hani Al-Dmour, Raed Bani Yassin, Amer Salman, Mohammad Abu Hashish, and Rand Al-Dmour.
The research was distinguished in its publication year by receiving the Arab Councils for Scientific Research Award for the Best Scientific Research in Confronting the Coronavirus Pandemic (2020), in recognition of its scientific value and applied impact in supporting Arab research efforts during one of the toughest global health crises.
The scientific importance of the research lies in the comprehensive model it presented, which demonstrates the pivotal role of social media platforms in enhancing public health protection, through raising health awareness and stimulating positive behavioral changes among individuals, prompting hundreds of researchers around the world to adopt or develop this model in their subsequent studies.
This achievement reflects the advanced presence of Jordanian scientific research on the international stage, and affirms the ability of Jordanian researchers to produce influential scientific models that are globally recognized, contribute to the development of health policies and crisis management, and enhance Jordan's position on the international scientific research map.
