Khaberni - One of the most tragic cases that has shaken the Diyala Governorate in Iraq during the past few days ended in a devastating outcome, after the son of the former director of water resources in the governorate committed suicide by hanging himself, nearly a week after causing the death of his father due to gunfire that was said to have occurred accidentally.
A security source reported today, Saturday, that Baqir Hashim Zeini ended his life inside his grandfather's house in the Al-Amiraniya area located northeast of Baquba city, days after the incident that took the life of his father Hashim Zeini Al-Tamimi, the former director of water resources in the Muqdadiyah district.
Last week, the young man shot his father, leading to his immediate death, in an incident that caused widespread shock in the local community, before preliminary investigations revealed the son's suffering from psychological disturbances and problems.
According to the Iraqi National News Agency "NINA", the first incident was recorded last Sunday, when the former Iraqi official was killed inside the Muqdadiyah district northeast of Diyala, by his son, under circumstances described at the time as mysterious, before investigations indicated that the perpetrator was suffering from chronic psychological problems.
It seems that the young man continued to live in a poor psychological state after killing his father, until he proceeded to hang himself inside his grandfather's house, where he was found deceased, amidst a state of sorrow and astonishment among family members and residents of the area.
For its part, the security authorities in Diyala have announced the opening of an extensive investigation into both incidents, to reveal all the circumstances and motives, and to complete the legal procedures according to the usual protocols,
