Khaberni - Spanish journalistic reports revealed exciting details dating back to 2017, related to the attempt of Kylian Mbappe to join Real Madrid early in his career, in a deal that could have shaken the stability of the royal team during one of its most successful historical periods.
According to AS newspaper, the young French star at that time did not hide his strong desire to wear the Real Madrid shirt, but he linked this step with a demand considered daring and shocking within the club’s corridors.
The paper pointed out that Mbappe, who was shining strongly with Monaco, demanded a starting spot in the lineup, which practically meant displacing one of the attacking trio at that time, Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Karim Benzema. This request was described within the club as unrealistic, especially since the trio formed the backbone of Real Madrid’s attack, crowned with the Champions League and dominating at a continental level.
Real Madrid's management immediately rejected the request, considering that the team could not sacrifice its major stars for a young player, no matter his talent. The management also saw that the balance of the dressing room and the stability of the sports project were more important than any deal, even if it concerned one of the most prominent rising talents in global football.
