Khaberni - The German club Bayern Munich took a giant step towards the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, after returning with a precious and deserved victory from the heart of "Santiago Bernabeu" with a score of (2-1) against Real Madrid, in the first leg of the quarter-finals, thanks to the remarkable performance of the veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and an offensive initiative led by Harry Kane.
Neuer.. The Berlin Wall in Madrid
After the match, the Belgian coach of Bavaria, Vincent Kompany, praised the "special and exceptional" performance of Neuer, who was crowned Man of the Match after blocking a series of definite chances, especially from the Frenchman Kylian Mbappe.
Kompany told reporters, "You always need exceptional performance at this level.. Neuer is not only able to perform for a long time, but for a very long time and at a level not even the top goalkeepers can maintain."
Harry Kane approaches fifty
Bayern's goals were scored by both Luis Diaz and Harry Kane, with the latter raising his tally to 49 goals in a historic season.
Despite Mbappe narrowing the gap in the 74th minute, Kompany expressed his happiness with the result, saying: "Any victory at the Bernabeu is an important result that we can build on in next week's second-leg match at our stadium."
Arbeloa bets on "the comeback" and the return of Bellingham
On the other hand, Real Madrid coach, Alvaro Arbeloa, has not lost confidence in his team's ability to recover in Munich, asserting "If there is a team capable of winning in Munich, it is Real Madrid."
Arbeloa expressed optimism about the level shown by Jude Bellingham as a substitute in the second half after returning from a hamstring injury, noting that the English international's personality and ability to overcome the high pressure from Bayern will be decisive in the second-leg clash.
