The Applied Group for Plastic Industries honored the chairman of its board, Dr. Radwan Khatib, celebrating his receipt of an honorary doctorate and his appointment as a goodwill ambassador during a ceremony held at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Amman, on Tuesday evening.
According to Dr. Ilham Abdel Jawad, the delegate from the research center, Dr. Radwan Khatib is considered one of the 100 pioneering men worldwide who have met the required standards to receive the honorary degree and the position of goodwill ambassador, being the first Jordanian businessman to receive this honor.
Dr. Radwan Khatib expressed pride in this trust, pointing out the importance of acknowledging and appreciating the efforts of the employees of the Applied Group for Plastic Industries, and explaining the significant role they played in achieving this success and reaching these achievements.
The celebration started with a visual presentation that highlighted the major features and achievements of the group, with colleague Ghadeer Al-Khawalda hosting the ceremony’s segments, before the audience listened to a speech by Engineer Walid Kamal, a board member, about the group's role in enhancing the Jordanian economy's momentum.
Kamal confirmed that the board of directors of the Applied Group for Plastic Industries is always committed to dedicating practical efforts towards environmental protection and sustainability, according to the economic modernization vision, and reviewed the areas of the group’s industries and their impact on society and the local economy.
In turn, Engineer Omar Khatib, the vice chairman of the board, explained the group's role in community responsibility, and its focus on providing job opportunities for local talents, pointing out the actual support offered to the community under the national umbrella.
During the event, the audience witnessed the official video announcement of Dr. Radwan Khatib receiving the honorary doctorate and the position of goodwill ambassador, after fulfilling the necessary criteria and requirements, where the delegate from the university president, Dr. Ilham Abdel Jawad, honored him with the certificate and announced his attainment of the honorary degree.
The event was attended by several national and Arab dignitaries, where a number of them were honored, including the former Minister of Agriculture Dr. Reda Al-Khawalda, the Moroccan economic attaché in Jordan Abdel Rahman Mahfouz, the Belgian cultural attaché Ahmed Hassan Waheeb, in addition to the university delegate Dr. Ilham Abdel Jawad.
