Growth of Fifth Generation Subscriptions in Jordan by 307

Khaberni  - The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission published on its website the statistical report for the third quarter of the year 2025 for the telecommunications sector.

The indicators show an increase in the number of mobile telecommunications subscriptions, reaching 8.48 million subscriptions compared to 8.26 million subscriptions for the third quarter of 2024, representing a growth rate of 2.6%, and an increase in internet subscriptions reaching 824,300 compared to 799,700 subscriptions for the third quarter of 2024, with a growth rate of 3.1%.

Broadband Mobile Services

The report indicated that the total broadband mobile services subscriptions reached 8.48 million, compared to about 8.26 million for the third quarter of 2024 with a growth rate of 2.6%, distributed across 65% prepaid subscriptions and 35% postpaid subscriptions,

While the subscriptions for (voice and data) lines accounted for 80%, and data-only lines accounted for 20%, and the volume of mobile voice traffic stood at around 7.3 billion minutes, distributed across 97% locally and 3% internationally, and the sent text messages reached about 336.6 million text messages compared to about 333.6 million messages in the third quarter of 2024 with a growth rate of 0.9%, and the penetration rate for mobile phone subscriptions by the end of the third quarter of 2025 was 71.4% according to the total population compared to 70.8% for the third quarter of 2024 with a penetration rate of 110% according to the population aged over 15 years.

Additionally, the volume of data usage through broadband mobile services was about 767.5 million gigabytes in the third quarter compared with about 652.9 million gigabytes in the third quarter of 2024, with a growth rate of 17.6%.

Regarding Fifth Generation Mobile Subscriptions

The report indicated that the number of fifth-generation mobile subscriptions continued to rise notably in the third quarter of 2025, totaling 287,000 subscriptions compared with the second quarter of 2025, which had about 241,000 subscriptions, a growth rate of about 19.1%, and a growth rate of 307% from the third quarter of 2024, which had 70,000 subscriptions at that time.

Broadband Fixed Internet Services

Regarding broadband fixed internet services, the report indicated a recording of about 824,300 subscriptions compared to a total of 799,700 subscriptions in the third quarter of 2024, where the growth rate was 3.1%, and the penetration rate was 33.3% relative to the number of households for the third quarter of 2025, while broadband internet subscriptions using FBWA technology were 16%, while the rate of internet services subscriptions using xDSL technology was 6%, and likewise the rate of fiber technology subscriptions was 77% at the end of the third quarter, where fiber internet subscriptions totaled 637,400 during the third quarter of 2025.

And the volume of fixed broadband data usage was about 1.5 billion gigabytes for the third quarter of 2025 compared to 1.4 billion gigabytes for the third quarter of 2024, with a growth rate of 7.1%, with an average monthly fixed internet usage of 625 gigabytes per subscription, which was about 564 gigabytes in the third quarter of 2024 with a growth rate of 10.8%.

Fixed Voice Services

The total number of subscribers in fixed voice services was about 478,600 subscriptions for the third quarter compared to about 485,300 subscriptions for the third quarter of 2024 with a decrease rate of 1.4%, and the residential sector represents 67% of the total, and 33% for the commercial sector.

Regarding the volume of telephone traffic consumed by subscribers via the fixed telephone, the report indicated a recording of about 10 million minutes of calls during the third quarter compared to about 12.6 million call minutes for the third quarter of 2024, decreasing by 20.6%, including local land telephone traffic between provinces and international telephone traffic with other countries, distributed across 83% local traffic, and 17% of the call minutes for international telephone traffic.

Leased Line Services

The report revealed that the number of leased line service subscriptions reached 25,500 at the end of the third quarter of 2025 compared with 23,700 subscriptions in the second quarter of 2024, with a growth rate of 7.6%.
