Khaberni - Libyan media outlets published a video showing the last appearance of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan army affiliated with the Abdul Hamid Dbeibah government, Mohamed Ali Haddad, moments before his death following a plane crash shortly after taking off from Ankara airport.
The video shows an official meeting between Haddad and the Turkish Chief of General Staff, Selcuk Bayraktar Oglo, on Tuesday in the capital Ankara, where he was received by Bayraktar with official ceremonies at the headquarters of the Turkish General Staff.
The meeting witnessed the playing of the national anthems of both countries, and Haddad performed a military salute to the honor guard before the two sides held a closed meeting away from the media, according to reports.
The Prime Minister of the Libyan National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, announced on Tuesday the death of Haddad and several senior military officials following a tragic accident during their return from an official trip from the Turkish city of Ankara.
Dbeibah stated in an official statement that the victims include the Chief of Staff of the Land Forces, Major General Al-Fitouri Ghreibel, the Director of the Military Manufacturing Agency, Brigadier Mahmoud Al-Qatiwi, the Advisor to the Chief of General Staff Mohamed Asawi Diab, and the Photographer in the Media Office of the Chief of Staff Mohamed Omar Ahmed Mahjoub, describing this grievous loss as a significant loss for the nation, the military institution, and all the Libyan people, praising their loyal service, dedication, and commitment to their national duty.
